What stays in your browser

Every calculation on DownloadTime — file sizes, speeds, times — runs in JavaScript inside your tab. There is no form submission, no upload, no API call carrying your inputs. The site is served as static files; no application server exists to receive data even in principle. You can verify this yourself: load the page, cut the network, and every feature still works.

The calculator doesn’t write cookies or localStorage. Reload the page and you’re back at the defaults — nothing about your last visit is remembered, because nothing was saved.

What our infrastructure sees

• Cloudflare, our host, processes standard request metadata — IP address, user agent, timestamp, requested URL — to deliver files and defend the site. Those logs are governed by Cloudflare’s own privacy policy.
• Google AdSense, our advertising partner, may set cookies or similar identifiers to serve and measure ads, including personalized ads based on your visits here and elsewhere. You can turn personalization off in Google’s ad settings or via aboutads.info. Ad scripts have no access to the calculator’s inputs — they run in a separate world from the math.

We run no analytics scripts of our own and no tracking pixels.

Children and sensitive data

This is a general-audience utility site. It doesn’t ask for names, emails, accounts or any personal information, and it isn’t directed at children — though there’s nothing here a child couldn’t safely use.
